Lake Monona Summertime Wedding

Updated: Jun 25, 2021

Nothing says summertime in Madison like being on the lakes. Bailey and Elliot's Lake Monona wedding at the East Side Club was everything you'd expect and more. The sunshine was out in force and the cool breezes off the water made the perfect backdrop for their beautiful lakeside wedding ceremony. A mid-afternoon trip to nearby Olbrich Gardens was the cherry on top of this beautiful day.

Their June 12th wedding was technically a week before the start of summer, but when temperatures are in the upper 80s and there's not a cloud in the sky, there's no doubt that summer has arrived.

The East Side Club was quiet all morning as Bailey and her bridesmaids got into hair and makeup on the 2nd floor, overlooking the ceremony space and lake. Outside Bailey's family was assembling the arch and club staff were setting up chairs. Brad from MP Productions was rigging the lights and sound system up to rock the house down. Before long, Elliot and his groomsmen arrived and guests started to pour into the lawn to find shaded spots to sit under the large trees.

The ceremony funny, sweet, and masterfully conducted by David Holmquist. Sailboats and kayaks drifted by and the Capitol Building's dome sparkled behind them. There wasn't a dry eye at the end of the ceremony and cheers and applause erupted from lake swimmers and guests alike.

My favorite part of the day followed the ceremony when Bailey and Elliot decided to spend the first hour of their married lives walking together in the lush gardens at Olbrich, while their guest cooled off with cocktails and air conditioning. It's something I'm going to recommend to every one of my clients going forward. Spend those first few minutes with each other and celebrate your marriage together.

Just before dinner, the newlyweds ran around to each table making sure they were able to get a photo with absolutely everyone. It was a wonderful way to get the reception started and the evening was every bit as spectacular as the wedding day.

I loved reliving the moments while going through their photos. I hope you enjoy them as well. To download images and to see the entire gallery visit: https://clients.sableparkphotography.com/BaileyAndElliot Ask them for the password.
